PLT Export for IntelliCAD is a HPGL Plot (.plt) file export plug-in for IntelliCAD®. This plug-in gives IntelliCAD the ability to export geometric data to HPGL plot files.

PLT Export for IntelliCAD reads the objects in an IntelliCAD drawing and converts them into corresponding pen movements in a HPGL Plot file.

PLT Export for IntelliCAD is very easy to use. Once installed, it must be loaded into the IntelliCAD environment. Follow the simple instructions in the Getting Started document which can be found in the installation folder. Once loaded it adds new commands to IntelliCAD's existing commands and a new submenu called "PLTExport" to the IntelliCAD menu containing these newly added commands.

Installation & Usage

Since PLT Export for IntelliCAD is a plug-in for IntelliCAD powered applications, it must be loaded into the application's environment before it can be used. Please follow the simple instructions in the PLT Export for IntelliCAD Getting Started document which is copied into the installation folder. After you have loaded the plug-in file into the IntelliCAD powered application, simply click on the menu items in the "PLTExport" sub menu to run these new commands. Truly, software made simple!

• PLTExportHelp - Displays the PLT Export for IntelliCAD help file.

The PLT File Format

HPGL is the Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language designed for specifying 2D graphical information for the HP range of plotters. It was not intended as an interchange format but some software suppliers use it as such. HPGL is a command set embedded in the ROM of pen plotters to help reduce the work required by applications programmers to create plotted output. HPGL uses two-letter mnemonics as instructions for drawing lines, circles, text, and simple symbols. HPGL is the primary printer control language used by Hewlett-Packard plotters. It later became a standard for almost all plotters.
