Mesh To Solid for Rhino is a plug-in for Rhinoceros. Mesh To Solid for Rhino which gives Rhino the ability to convert meshes to solids.

Converting a mesh into a solid is using Mesh To Solid for Rhino is very easy. Simply select the mesh (or meshes) from the Rhino model and press Enter. Mesh To Solid for Rhino analyzes the mesh. It then extracts sets of adjacent coplanar faces and creates a single trimmed planar NURBS surface for each set. These planar trimmed NURBS surfaces are then stitched to yield a solid.

Mesh To Solid for Rhino is designed to be extremely user friendly and easy to understand. It adds new commands to Rhino and also a new menu called "MeshToSolid" which houses these commands. To convert a mesh into a solid simply open a drawing and then run the Convert command to create a solid. Truly software made simple!

Installation & Usage

Since Mesh To Solid for Rhino is a plug-in for Rhino, it is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into the Rhino environment. If automatic loading fails there are manual loading instructions in the ReadMe file. Once loaded it adds new commands to Rhino's existing commands and a new submenu called "MeshToSolid" to the Rhino menu containing these newly added commands.

Mesh To Solid for Rhino adds new commands to Rhino. All the commands start with "MS" (stands for Mesh To Solid) to distinguish them from other Rhino commands and commands added by other plug-ins. These commands are housed in a new menu called "MeshToSolid" which is added to the Rhino menu. The commands added are:

  • MSConvert - Converts  meshes into solids

  • MSHelp - Displays the Mesh To Solid for Rhino help file

  • MSRegister - Registers your copy of Mesh To Solid for Rhino

  • MSAbout - Displays the Mesh To Solid for Rhino About box
